Opening Worlds Through Books

At PLF Canada, we believe that reading is the first stepping stone to a brighter future. That’s why we fund libraries at Prey Kuol, Koh Ker, Romchek, and the Secondary School Library at Srayang, creating spaces where children from families with little to no literacy can discover the joy of books.
Every library is more than shelves of books, it’s a launchpad for curiosity, imagination, and lifelong learning. Study groups, book-sharing sessions, and Reading Day events invite students and families alike to explore stories, ideas, and worlds beyond their villages. Incentive programs, like Top Reader awards, spark friendly competition, especially engaging boys, and keep students excited about school.
We have a collection of over 4,000 books across our libraries. From early-grade Khmer readers to young adult fiction, non-fiction, English language books, and e-Readers, students encounter stories that support their studies and grow their imaginations. Puzzles, games, and interactive tools stimulate logic, creativity, and critical thinking, essential skills for school and life.
By nurturing a love of reading, we lay the foundation for every child’s journey through education, helping them gain the confidence, curiosity, and joy that will carry them far beyond the classroom. Your support helps keep these libraries stocked, vibrant, and alive, opening doors to learning, imagination, and opportunity for every student.
